KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kila Ka'aihue hit Michael Kohn's second pitch 393 feet for the game-ending homer. The Royals' Jeff Francis, coming back from left shoulder surgery that sidelined him for all of 2009 and part of 2010, allowed a homer to Howie Kendrick on his eighth pitch. And the Angels had at least one baserunner in five of the next six innings. But they could not break through, stranding runners in scoring position in the second, third and fifth.
