PHILADELPHIA — Roy Halladay allowed six hits and struck out seven over seven innings for his first win of the year and Wilson Valdez had a career-high four hits. Jonathon Niese got roughed up by an offense that's averaging 7.2 runs and 12.7 hits a game. "It's better than I expected," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "But at the same time, we played six games. … It's best not to talk about it and let it happen."
