The Bucs stayed close to home in the fifth round, selecting University of Florida safety Ahmad Black in the fifth round, the 151st pick overall.
At 5-foot-9 3/8, 184 pounds, Black is somewhat undersized for an NFL safety. But Black was highly productive for the Gators, leading the team with 102 tackles, which ranked eighth in the nation among defensive backs.
Black, the MVP of the 2011 Outback Bowl, has 13 career interceptions.
