FORT MEADE — Kadijah Fulse put back a rebound with 15 seconds left against St. Petersburg Catholic, helping Fort Meade to a 47-44 victory Thursday in a Class 3A region quarterfinal.

Fulse, who missed a majority of the season with a knee injury, broke a 44-all tie to help her team win.

"I thought we should have blown them out," Fort Meade coach Archie Gale said. "We had the opportunity, but we started throwing the ball away."

The Barons (19-8) trailed by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, but rallied to tie with 27 seconds left.

After Fulse's score, the Barons had a chance to tie with Brittney Dunbar at the free-throw line with six seconds left, but she missed both.

Angel Mitchell sank her second of two free throws to ice the game for the Miners (18-4).

Dunbar paced the Barons with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
